WRITER AND EDITOR

Hi! I’m Shakthi, a journalist based in New York City. I have written for New York Magazine, People, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The Daily Beast, and other publications. I am currently a copy editor at People magazine. In my free time, I write television pilots and screenplays. My pilots have placed in the PAGE Awards, We Screenplay Diverse Voices Competition, Launchpad Pilot Competition, Big Apple Film Festival Screenplay Competition, Los Angeles Screenplay Awards, Shore Scripts TV Pilot Contest, Stage 32 Horror competition, Screencraft TV Pilot and Horror competition, and made the Second Round at the Austin Film Festival Competition. I was a semifinalist for the Outfest Screenwriting Lab and attended the Stowe Story Labs in 2023. I am a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University and earned a Certificate in Television Writing from UCLA’s Professional Program.
